[User Picture Icon]
Date:October 24th, 2005 11:28 am (UTC)
Artist: Richard Bliwas
Album: Yarrow Talk Bridge
Non-Airable Tracks:
Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 3
Genre: Jazz / Spoken Word
R.I.Y.L.: Tom Waits, Revrend Glasseye

One part poet, one part singer, one part jazz artist, Bliwas brings back the dramatic moods of Waits's jazzy side, in such complete magnificence that as I write this, I am shaken - completely shaken - by the words and synched piano, or emotional box as Bliwas would probably call it. But it's not just the extreme jazz side of things, it's the passion that is within the rise and fall of the notes that are played, it's the pacing and timing of the melodies worked back and forth, and it's what Bliwas has got to say - the saddest, or most beautiful, lines that one might hear spill out of a jazz musicians mouth.
